Abstract
Benoit Frydman prefaces Stefan Goltzberg's book as a major contribution that opens innovative paths for legal argumentation beyond the Perelmanian legacy. He identifies two principal innovations: first, the reconciliation of logical reductionism and topical reductionism by demonstrating that certain arguments are logically irreversible while others remain reversible; second, the integration of Oswald Ducrot's theory of argumentation within language, notably the analysis of argumentative markers revealing the syntactic and oriented dimension of discourse. This two-dimensional approach makes it possible to combine the art of adversarial debate with the technical rigour characteristic of legal reasoning.

Benoit Frydman préface l'ouvrage de Stefan Goltzberg comme une contribution majeure qui ouvre des voies novatrices à l'argumentation juridique au-delà de l'héritage perelmanien. Il identifie deux innovations principales : d'une part, la réconciliation du réductionnisme logique et du réductionnisme topique en démontrant que certains arguments sont logiquement irréversibles alors que d'autres demeurent réversibles ; d'autre part, l'intégration de la théorie d'Oswald Ducrot sur l'argumentation dans la langue, notamment l'analyse des marqueurs argumentatifs révélant la dimension syntaxique et orientée du discours. Cette approche bidimensionnelle permet de conjuguer l'art du débat contradictoire avec la rigueur technique caractéristique du raisonnement juridique.
