Abstract
Benoit Frydman explores how law functions as a commodity and a strategic resource in global markets, examining the perspectives of individuals and corporations navigating across multiple national jurisdictions. Through examples ranging from consumer behavior to corporate tax optimization strategies, he demonstrates how traditional state regulation is partially giving way to alternative governance mechanisms operating through value chains and corporate social responsibility. Although the latter has become a major strategic concern for most executives, it has not been sufficient to prevent exploitation, suggesting that the struggle for law in the global environment is only just beginning.
