Abstract
Benoit Frydman, Gregory Lewkowicz, and Arnaud Van Waeyenberge analyze the global turn in legal science and its pedagogical implications, challenging the traditional methodological nationalism centered on the nation-state. The authors observe the emergence of global law as a sub-discipline characterized by a great diversity of theoretical approaches (natural law, global constitutionalism, legal pluralism, systemic approaches, the New Haven School, and Global South theories). Aligning with the pragmatic approach of the Brussels School, they present their experiences teaching global law across several European and Latin American universities, demonstrating how this approach enables students to understand new emerging normativities beyond the classical framework of the nation-state.
